Strut Your Stuff.

You hear it all the time…make sure you have your shocks and struts checked. While the terms shocks and struts are usually referred to interchangeably, they really are separate components with different functions. A.J.’s Import Garage of Topeka, KS thinks it is important to know the difference.

Here is a quick tutorial. Shock absorbers are hydraulic components that, when working properly, will minimize movement generated by your vehicle’s springs. Struts, on the other hand, are the components of some vehicles’ steering and suspension systems. They usually consist of a spring as well as a shock absorber.

We don’t know if that clears it up for you, but it is important that the shocks and struts of your import car are working properly. Call A.J.’s Import Garage if you suspect anything may be wrong with them. They are located at 501 S.W. Harrison in Topeka. Call for an appointment at (785) 233-1000.
