That’s good advice as summer comes to the capitol city. It also applies to your vehicle, be it
foreign or domestic. When is the right
time to change your engine coolant? This
is no exact science. For some vehicles,
you’re advised to change the coolant every 30,000 miles. For others, changing
it isn’t even on the maintenance schedule.
Some manufacturers recommend you drain and flush the
engine’s cooling system and change the coolant more often on vehicles subjected
to “severe service”, which may be defined as frequent towing, which can
generate more heat. On the other hand,
the schedule for many Chevrolets, is a change at 150,000 miles regardless of
how the vehicle is driven.
It varies, but one thing that should never vary is whatever
type of vehicle you drive have the engine coolant checked and perhaps changed
at A.J.’s Import Garage located at 501 S.W. Harrison in Topeka KS. Now that’s a capitol idea! Drive in or, better yet call ahead for an
appointment at A.J.’s (785) 233-1000.
