Some Info about your Diesel-Powered Vehicle.

It’s known as the common-rail fuel injection system.  In diesel engines, it features a high-pressure fuel rail which feeds the solenoid valves.  This is the direct opposite to the low-pressure pump feeding unit injectors.  Late model common rail diesels are now featuring something called piezoelectric injectors for greater precision.

What is the benefit?  Well, high pressure injection delivers power and fuel consumption benefits as opposed to the earlier lower pressure fuel injection.  By injecting fuel in a larger number of smaller droplets, it gives a much higher ratio of surface area to volume.  This combines atmospheric oxygen with vaporized fuel delivering more complete combustion.

It all may sound a bit complicated, but keeping your finely tuned foreign vehicle on the road by having the tools and expertise to repair fuel injection systems is essential.   At A.J.’s Import Garage located at 501 S.W. Harrison they have just what it takes to keep your car running smoothly on the roads around Topeka.  Make an appointment today at (785) 233-1000.
